"There is an unprecedented need for allied health professionals due to many factors, including the aging population, greater emphasis on team-oriented patient care, greater need for primary, preventive and rehab services, complexity of health information and enhanced technology in diagnostic testing, to name a few," says Dr. Kent Guion, the school's acting dean. "Any significant health care reform that increases access to care will further increase the need, so it's important that we prepare more of these professionals that populate essentially every health care venue."
